Dear IEEE South Saskatchewan Section Members,
Welcome to the IEEE South Saskatchewan Section for 2023! We are thrilled to embark on another exciting year together as a vibrant community of professionals and enthusiasts in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Our section is dedicated to promoting the advancement of technology for the benefit of humanity, and we are committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where members can connect, learn, and thrive.
As we kick off the new year, we have an array of engaging events, activities, and initiatives planned for our members. From technical workshops and seminars to networking events and social gatherings, there will be ample opportunities to expand your knowledge, develop new skills, and connect with fellow professionals in the field. We also encourage you to take advantage of the various resources and benefits that IEEE has to offer, such as access to cutting-edge research, professional development opportunities, and a global network of experts. The IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 360,000 individual members in approximately 175 countries. The full name is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is most popularly known and referred to by the letters I-E-E-E. The South Saskatchewan IEEE Section was established on May 10, 1956.
Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.
Through its technical publishing, conferences and consensus-based standards activities, the IEEE:
- Produces 30 percent of the world’s published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control technology
- Holds annually more than 300 major conferences and
- Has nearly 900 active standards with 700 under development.
IEEE’s core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.
IEEE will be essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere, and be universally recognized for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions.
